L’ancien directeur général de l’Agence sénégalaise de promotion touristique (ASPT), Pape Mahawa Diouf, a officiellement lancé, ce dimanche 19 juillet 2026, son mouvement politique RACINE (Rassemblement citoyen pour la nation, l’éthique et la justice sociale). Devant ses partisans réunis à Yoff, l’ancien responsable de l’Alliance pour la République (APR) a présenté une nouvelle offre politique axée sur la citoyenneté, l’éthique, la justice sociale, le développement durable et la réconciliation nationale.
Face à un public composé de guides religieux, de chefs coutumiers, d’acteurs politiques et de sympathisants, le président de RACINE a dressé un constat préoccupant de la situation du pays.
Selon lui, le Sénégal traverse une crise sociale marquée par les inégalités persistantes, le chômage des jeunes et la précarité de nombreuses familles. À cela s’ajoutent, a-t-il estimé, une crise économique qui fragilise le pouvoir d’achat des ménages, une crise civique alimentant la méfiance envers les institutions, ainsi que les effets grandissants du changement climatique.
« Nous faisons face à une crise sociale, économique, politique et environnementale. Nous devons mobiliser toutes les forces nationales pour relever ces défis », a déclaré Pape Mahawa Diouf.
« Réenraciner la citoyenneté »
Le fondateur de RACINE a expliqué que son mouvement est né de la conviction que le renouveau du Sénégal passe avant tout par celui de la citoyenneté. Il ambitionne ainsi de promouvoir une société fondée sur la justice sociale, l’éthique, la démocratie participative et la protection de l’environnement.
« Pour nous, la politique est un sacerdoce. Elle consiste à relever les défis quotidiens de notre peuple et à servir l’intérêt général », a-t-il affirmé.
L’autonomisation des citoyens au cœur du projet
Au-delà de son positionnement politique, RACINE entend faire de l’autonomisation des citoyens un axe majeur de son action. Le mouvement souhaite rompre avec une logique où les militants sont uniquement mobilisés lors des échéances électorales en leur offrant des perspectives de développement économique et social.
Son programme repose notamment sur trois priorités : l’autonomisation économique, la socioalphabétisation et la préservation des savoirs traditionnels. À cet effet, le mouvement prévoit des formations professionnelles, un accompagnement à l’entrepreneuriat ainsi que des mécanismes de financement solidaire à travers des coopératives, des microcrédits communautaires et des fonds rotatifs afin de soutenir les initiatives locales.
Plaidoyer pour la réconciliation nationale
Pape Mahawa Diouf a également lancé un appel à la réconciliation nationale, estimant que le Sénégal doit préserver son unité et consolider sa tradition démocratique.
« Nous sommes favorables à toute initiative de réconciliation nationale qui permette au Sénégal de retrouver pleinement sa trajectoire de démocratie majeure, porteuse de paix et d’espoir », a-t-il déclaré.
Le président de RACINE a par ailleurs invité les jeunes, les femmes, les travailleurs, les entrepreneurs, les agriculteurs, les pêcheurs ainsi que l’ensemble des forces vives de la nation à rejoindre cette nouvelle dynamique citoyenne.
