Le maire de Simbandi Balante dénonce un péril plastique causé par l’abandon massif de sacs vides par les transporteurs de noix de cajou le long de la Route nationale n°6 (RN6).

Le maire de Simbandi Balante, dans le département de Goudomp (sud), tire la sonnette d’alarme face à la multiplication des déchets plastiques le long de la Route nationale n°6 (RN6). Famara Kalbert Mané condamne avec fermeté le comportement de certains transporteurs de noix de cajou qui, après avoir déchargé leur marchandise dans les magasins de stockage de Ziguinchor, abandonnent les sacs en plastique vides sur les accotements de la route.

Selon l’édile, cette pratique constitue une grave menace pour l’environnement et le cadre de vie des populations riveraines. « Il y a de la matière plastique partout. Nous sommes menacés par ce péril plastique, nous sommes vraiment en danger », a-t-il alerté avec amertume lors d’un entretien qu’il a accordé la radio Pkumel FM de Goudomp.

Face à cette situation, Famara Kalbert Mané interpelle directement les responsables du regroupement des transporteurs afin qu’ils sensibilisent leurs membres et mettent fin à ces actes qu’il qualifie d’irresponsables. Pour lui, il est impératif que les transporteurs adoptent des comportements plus respectueux de l’environnement.

Le maire estime que cette agression écologique ne peut plus être tolérée. Il appelle ainsi les autorités administratives à agir sans délai. Il invite notamment les gouverneurs des régions de Kolda, de Sédhiou et de Ziguinchor à prendre les dispositions nécessaires pour mettre un terme à ce phénomène qui prend de l’ampleur sur cet axe routier stratégique.

À travers cet appel, l’autorité municipale souhaite susciter une mobilisation collective afin de préserver l’environnement, protéger les populations contre les effets de la pollution plastique et maintenir la salubrité le long de la RN6, principal corridor reliant les régions du sud du Sénégal.
