Une nouvelle étape s’ouvre dans la recomposition du paysage politique sénégalais. Le Dr Serigne Guèye Diop, président du parti Sénégal en Mouvement vers l’Excellence (SEME), a annoncé l’adhésion de sa formation au projet de création d’un nouveau parti politique appelé à soutenir l’action du président de la République, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Cette décision, officialisée à travers un manifeste, marque la volonté du SEME de prendre part à la structuration de la future majorité politique autour du chef de l’État.
Le ministre de l’Industrie et du Commerce considère cette initiative comme un prolongement naturel des réformes entreprises depuis l’arrivée au pouvoir des nouvelles autorités. Dans son manifeste, il indique que le président Bassirou Diomaye Faye souhaite mettre en place « une nouvelle structure politique capable de l’accompagner dans son œuvre de refondation de la Nation sénégalaise », estimant que cet instrument sera essentiel pour porter les ambitions du projet présidentiel.
Au-delà d’un simple cadre partisan, le Dr Serigne Guèye Diop défend la création d’une organisation ouverte à la participation citoyenne et au débat public. Selon lui, cette formation devra fédérer les différentes sensibilités partageant la vision du chef de l’État et servir de relais entre les institutions et les populations.
Le manifeste expose également les principes qui guideront cette future organisation politique. Le président du SEME plaide pour un souverainisme conciliant affirmation des intérêts nationaux et ouverture sur le monde, un panafricanisme fondé sur la coopération, le respect des institutions républicaines et une stratégie économique axée sur la valorisation des ressources nationales au profit du développement.
En annonçant l’engagement officiel du SEME dans cette dynamique, le Dr Serigne Guèye Diop affirme que la réussite des transformations engagées exige un outil politique capable d’assurer leur accompagnement sur le long terme. « Pour réaliser ce grand dessein politique, il faut un appareil politique adéquat », conclut-il, scellant ainsi le ralliement de son parti au projet de création de la future formation présidentielle.
